Farm Frites taps into sharing trend with mini-sized potato range

The eight-strong Let’s Go Mini range includes ‘retro classics’ such as Mashed Potato and Potato Bites & Onion, along with Italian and Mexican varieties.

The company said the range will help caterers tap into the demand for more sharing options, such as sliders, platters and tasters.

It cited a report by Allegra Strategies, which found nearly a third of consumers prefer to share dishes with companions when eating out.

Exciting options​

Nic Townsend, marketing manager for Farm Frites, believed that offering exciting dishes is key to customer retention.

He said: “Adding quirky eating experiences to a menu such as ‘pints of bites’ to graze on over a pint, or a ‘bucket and spade of bites’ as a cheery children’s meal offering will serve as a fun talking-point.

“Our minis also satisfy the fifth of diners that say that they are likely to order classic dishes with a new twist when eating out.”

Townsend said the range can deep-fried or oven-baked, and all of the varieties cook in the same time.

He added: “All our mini products can be served with sauces and dips on a sharing platter to maximise choice, reduce costs and add sociability.”
