CPL teams up with UK Legion Marketing
The Merseyside-based company – which trades under the brand names of Training Information Centre (TIC), DHTraining, and Legion – was founded by managing director Stuart Green, who was previously in a senior management role at CPL in 2009.
The group’s newest division, Legion, was established this year to deliver marketing, brand promotions and sales.
The TIC division is currently the second largest provider of personal licence training in England and Wales.
CEO of CPL Training Group Daniel Davies said: “UK Legion Marketing is a dynamic company with great leadership and people.
Strong identity and loyal customers
“Over the years, TIC and DHTraining have each developed a strong identity and a loyal customer base.
“The newly formed Legion division has also experienced great success working with the sector to promote brands, products and services.”
The three brand names and employees have been retained, including Stuart Green.
Davies added: “Stuart’s leadership has been a driving force behind the success – increasing turnover by 40% from 2014 to 2015.
“This deal marks an important step in our future business development plans – representing our ambition to deliver excellence in training and marketing across licensed hospitality.”
Other acquisitions
Last year, CPL acquired competitor ABV Training as part of its plan to increase its UK market share.
Green said: “We’re delighted to be joining forces with CPL Training Group, a company with vast experience and knowledge of the licensed trade.
“Since operations began in 2009, we have gone from strength to strength and this development is only going to help us continue growth and ensure a sustainable future.
“Together with CPL, I’m looking forward to leading my team to the next chapter.”
Earlier this year (August), CPL Training achieved a record market share in Personal Licence training for the first quarter of 2016.
This meant the training company had more than a third of the market for the Award for Personal Licence Holders training across England and Wales.
