Woodforde’s turns seasonal ale into part of core range
In fact, Woodforde’s Brewery is calling on more pubs to “join the pride” and take on its 4% ABV pale ale after it was released to mark England’s participation in international football tournaments.
It is permanently available to pubs in cask and will be available to purchase in 500ml bottles from November.
Woodforde’s said the 4% ABV pale ale recipe has been enhanced and boasts courageous hops and bold flavours using exclusively British ingredients – with pubs stocking it over this year’s Euros tournament reporting ‘roaring’ sales.
Bold, exciting options
Woodforde’s head brewer Aaron Taubman said: “We were blown away by how well received Lionheart was in pubs across the country this summer – especially in such a fiercely competitive market.
“That’s why we’re so pleased to now make it a permanent addition to our core range of beers, lining up against some real Woodforde’s heavyweights.
“We are all about bringing bold, exciting options to our cask offering, so have slightly sharpened the recipe to make it even better. We’re really excited to see even more pubs join the pride.”
Other members of Woodforde’s core range include Supreme Champion Beer of Britain, Wherry, multi-award-winning Volt IPA and other Norfolk-themed favourites.
Lionheart’s arrival comes as part of Woodforde’s ongoing mission to highlight what makes British cask ale such a special and important part of the nation’s tradition.
Hot spot for a cracking pint
The brewery is also a proud signatory to The Cask Project, a national initiative to boost cask ale, which is led by The Morning Advertiser.
Taubman added: “It was our cask ale that first put Woodforde’s and our Norfolk home on the map as a hot spot for a cracking pint.
“While we always offer our seasonal ales on cask, making a permanent addition to the range takes a lot of consideration – we want to make sure we’re creating something that entices everyone, whether they’re a traditional cask fan or not.
“Thankfully Lionheart has proven incredibly popular – and we hope it will showcase the wonders of cask ale to an even greater audience.”
