There are mobile sandwich vans, mobile shops and mobile libraries …..and now there is a mobile pub.

Volkswagen enthusiast Ben Levy has lovingly transformed his cherished VW T2 into a pub complete with a pump that lights up, an optics bar, genuine pub seating, and even a dart board.

Levy said: “It has a cooler in place and 240-volt power supply so you can have draught beer.”

The West Midlands motorcycle shop owner said he did not intend to convert the VW to actually trade as a pub but would be happy to hire the vehicle out if a licensee used his own licence to trade from it.

He has had a couple of enquiries and is likely to get more now a video showing the VW has gone viral on Facebook with more than a million viewings in the short time it has been live.

He said of the split screen vintage VW: “It’s been a labour of love over a couple of months. I don't know how much it’s cost to fit out.”

Labelled ‘The Dub Inn’ the vehicle’s name is a play on the nickname for Volkswagens, known as ‘Vdubs’.

There are Vdub meetings and festivals all over the country and just last month a big gathering was held at Wimborne Minster called Vdub at the Pub where Volkswagen owners gathered for a weekend of partying and charity fund raising.
