Winner of Enterprise Inns' Pub Idol competition announced
Genna Spotswood was voted this year’s winner after nineteen contestants - each representing their local Enterprise pub - were whittled down from 600 across South Yorkshire and battled it out in a live sing-off at the Viper Rooms in Sheffield.
Spotswood said: “I am thrilled to have won Pub Idol. I’ve had so much fun and a great amount of support from friends and family, and Centre Spot, too.
“I’m always the first up to sing karaoke in pubs and bars, and have done occasional gigs in the past, something I hope to focus more on in future, now I’ve had this great confidence boost.”
Enterprise regional manager Matt Gurney said: “Pub Idol is a great reminder of the vital part pubs play in bringing people together and providing fun social occasions.
“This is the second time we’ve organised the competition and once again, it was a great success.”
Spotswood won a visit to Songbirds Recording Studio to create her own CD, in addition to prize money of £1,000.
