Team UK comes tenth whilst Norway triumphs in Bocuse d'Or 2015
The Norwegian team came in first place in the self-styled culinary Olympics, claiming their fifth Bocuse d’Or victory since the competition began in 1987.
The American and Swedish teams came in seconds and third place respectively.
Team UK leader Adam Bennett, head chef of the Cross in Kenilworth, said on twitter that despite coming in tenth he “had a hell of a ride and loved every minute of it”.
But he added that it had been hard preparing for the contest whilst simultaneously running a business and lacking financial support.
Bennett and commis chef Kristian Curtis won Britain its highest Bocuse d’Or position to date in the 2013 edition, coming in fourth place as well as winning the award for best meat platter and Curtisb being named Best Commis.
Scandinavian countries have dominated the Bocuse d’Or since its inception, claiming roughly half of all awarded gold medals.
