BrewDog, the Scottish brewer and pub operator, has secured its fifth London site in Islington, the Publican’s Morning Advertiser has learnt.

The site is located on Essex Road and is set to open in 12 weeks.

The company also has a site for its second BottleDog in Birmingham, which will open before the end of the year. The craft beer bottle shop concept debuted at a site near London’s Kings Cross in April this year.

Speaking exclusively to the PMA at last night's launch of BrewDog Clapham Junction – it’s 22nd site worldwide - owner James Watt also confirmed that work has started on the Liverpool and Glasgow venues as well as on a second site in Leeds. He added that an opening date for the Brighton bar, which was originally planned for the end of August will be delayed.

Regarding sites overseas, he said BrewDog will open in Helsinki in “a few weeks”, Barcelona in six weeks, Rome in eight weeks, and Berlin by the end of the year.

Yesterday also marked the launch of the company’s new website, which is part of a wider brand evolution for the company. New bottle packaging, including a new BrewDog logo, has also been designed and will be rolled out over the next couple of weeks.

“It’s been crafted using metal and wood-cut letters. We wanted to create labels that reflects the way we make beer,” Watt said.
