The company, which has relaunched its offer to give £1,000 to anyone who finds a site that ends up as a BrewDog bar, has also updated its list of target locations. In London, the group is looking at Brixton, Soho, Camberwell, Stoke Newington, Hackney Wick, Dalston, Wimbledon and Peckham.
Elsewhere in the south east, BrewDog is targeting Cambridge, Oxford, Reading, Norwich, Southampton, Portsmouth, Canterbury, Plymouth and Exeter. Leicester in the Midlands, York in northern England, and Edinburgh in Scotland are also being looked at.
The Clapham bar is due to launch in the summer with the Brighton opening expected in “late August”. Meanwhile, its site on Liverpool’s Colquitt Street is expected to launch in late summer.
Overseas, BrewDog is to open in the Italian city of Florence later this month, with sites in Rome and Barcelona to open at the end of the summer and BrewDog Bologna opening in the later part of this year.
“We’re making good progress in Berlin and Helsinki and should be able to confirm the sites in the coming weeks,” BrewDog added.
Regarding criteria, BrewDog is looking for sites that are currently on the market, preferably with an existing licence and in a location with good footfall but “not necessarily completely central”. Leaseholds or freeholds would be considered.
Corner units are preferable and they should ideally measure 2,000 to 5,000 sq ft. “The venue will ideally have previously been a bar, restaurant or retail unit, but this is not critical,” the company said.
BrewDog opened its 18th site this month in Dundee.
