David Hoyland, who was at Marston’s for over 14 years, has joined Mitchells & Butlers (M&B), as retail director for its Harvester brand.

The Publican’s Morning Advertiser’s sister site M&C Report reported that under his new role Hoyland has responsibility for Harvester in the north and Karen Baskett for the south.

Hoyland spent nine years as senior operations manager at Marston’s, and over five years prior to that as an area operations manager.

It is thought that Hoyland fills the gap left by Ric Fyfe’s departure earlier this year to caterer Gather & Gather.

Earlier this month, the company confirmed that 96 of the 173 sites it acquired would be converted to brands and formats such as Harvester, Toby Carvery, Ember, Miller & Carter, Castle and Vintage.

The company recently launched an updated Harvester offer at selected restaurants.

The offer includes a new menu, a new drinks range including freshly made smoothies and milkshakes, alongside a new Pepsi Touch Tower machine, and new children’s activities.
