Parcel Yard named Fuller's Pub of the Year
The result was announced at a ceremony held at the Fuller's Griffin Brewery in Chiswick on Tuesday, where the pub was also named Best City Pub.
The Griffin Trophy awards recognise the efforts and achievements of its top managers and licensees across four categories, Outstanding Achievement, Best City pub, Best Town/Local pub, and Best Country/Village pub.
Fuller’s chairman Michael Turner said: “I am delighted to be presenting the Griffin Trophy to Nick and the team at the Parcel Yard.
“Nick has done a great job running the station pub since it opened in March 2012. The Parcel Yard is Fuller’s largest pub, with a 10,000 square foot site overlooking the platforms in a Grade-I listed area of the original station building.
“The staff at the pub are very good ambassadors for the company, in this high-profile site with so many visitors.
“Nick keeps an exceptional bar as well as running a fantastic kitchen, so if you’re looking for a top-quality range of beers and wines this is certainly a place to seek out.”
Nick Cameron, manager of the Parcel Yard, said: “I’m almost speechless; I didn’t think this was even possible. I am working in a wonderful, wonderful pub, with an incredible team, who have wholeheartedly helped me to achieve this award.
“I’d like to share this award with all of my team, past and present, for helping me make the Parcel Yard the award-winning pub it is today.”
The Parcel Yard scooped the top prize ahead of 383 other pubs that Fuller’s runs, located across much of the south of England.
The prize for the winning pub comprises a £5,000 holiday, a staff party, an engraved plaque and the coveted Griffin Trophy itself.
