Fuller's launches competition to celebrate Cask Ale Week

Fuller’s is offering one person the chance to become a brewer for the day at its Griffin Brewery in Chiswick, London, to celebrate Cask Ale Week.

The winner will work alongside Fuller’s head brewer to choose the best malts and hops, help with the brewing process and undertake quality control by tasting a range of Fuller’s beers.

To be in with a chance of winning, consumers need to take part in the ‘Cask Your Vote’ competition in a Fuller’s pub by choosing their favourite of three different third pints of beer. A winner will be selected at random.

Other prizes include a year’s supply of Fuller’s beer, brewery tours, cases of Vintage Ale 2013 and pairs of tickets to next year’s Great British Beer Festival.

The competition will run throughout Cask Ale Week – taking place between 27 September and 6 October – and will determine which Fuller’s cask ale is the country’s favourite.

Favourite ale

Fuller’s head brewer John keeling said: “We’re incredibly proud to be supporting Cask Ale Week again and this year, through our competition, we’ll challenge our customers to identify a variety of great flavours in our ales - from the marmalade notes of London Pride and the pure richness of ESB, to Red Fox, which is brewed with toasted oats.

“It’s an opportunity for everyone to vote for their favourite Fuller’s ale, as well as be in with the chance of winning some great prizes, and we are really excited to see the outcome. Forget the general election; this one is the real deal.”

The beers available to taste include the new seasonal Traitors Gate, a red ale named after a gate at The Tower of London, London Pride, Seafarers, HSB, ESB, Red Fox, Chiswick, and Discovery.
