Dan Fox, ex-general manager of Mitchells & Butler's famous pub the White Horse in London's Parsons Green, has secured his first site, set to operate as a brewpub under a new venture.

Fox has secured at 25-year lease on the Bull, in north London's Highgate, under a new business, the London Brewing Company (LBC).

The landlord is property owner Tonstate Group and a passing rent of £70,000 per year has been agreed,

Davis Coffer Lyons handled the sale.

The site is due to serve beers brewed on site at the Grade II-listed pub. LBC is due to invest several hundred thousand pounds in the Bull, due to re-open in the autumn.

Fox said: "We're pleased to offer one of London's oldest pubs a new lease of life. We have a strong offer and can't wait to show residents their new-feel local."

Chris Bickle, of Davis Coffer Lyons, said: "This opportunity attracted vast interest across various leisure sectors from health & fitness to nurseries.

"It seems fitting that a site with more than 500 years of history continues to trade as a pub at heart, with a unique brewing concept that we expect residents and visitors to appreciate."

Fox's business partner at LBC is Nick Campregher, who has a financial background.
