Cahoots: Postal Office is inside an old railway arch within the Borough Yards development, on the edge of Borough Market. The venue has been modelled on a vintage post office where guests will be transported back to 1946.

Visitors will enter through the post office shopfront, greeted at the overflowing mail counter by a postie.

They will then be directed through a post box into an immersive sorting area where a whole new Cahoots world awaits.

Bustling activity

The two-floor sorting area will be a hive of bustling activity with capacity for 80 seated guests or 120 standing for private events.

Its focal point will be a pneumatic tube system, which will see cocktails whizzing overhead as they are delivered to guests from the bar to tables through a series of air-powered tubes.

Cocktails available from the system include This Way Up with Patron Silver Tequila; Signed, Sealed, Delivered with Bombay Sapphire gin; and Par Avion with Grey Goose L’Original vodka.

Seating arrangements include repurposed mail sack chairs and seats within a converted mail train cart.

Décor will feature suspicious rattling parcels, carrier pigeons and an exotic airmail freight from Cuba containing Winston Churchill’s favourite cigars while beloved post office cat Maurice will be keeping a watchful eye over the sorting area.

Perfect location

Cahoots: Postal Office will also have a mezzanine level where guests will find The Dead Letter Depot.

On the launch of the new venue, Inception Group co-founder Charlie Gilkes said: “After the enormous success of the original Cahoots in Soho, which imagined the scoundrels had occupied a 1940s underground tube station and ticket hall we are very excited to be expanding the network.

“Borough Market feels like the perfect location for our second opening and we are very excited to be exploring another great British institution – the post office and have created our most immersive venue to date.”

The group signed a lease at Borough Yards last year while the business also secured £6.7m backing from OakNorth Bank in 2023, which is set to extend existing facilities it had with the bank as well as funding the opening of new sites.
