Global Brands relaunches retro classic
Global Brands has relaunched classic tropical RTD Reef (3.4% ABV).
Combining real fruit juice base with vodka, the serve is set to be marketed as the "ultimate nostalgic beverage" as part of an extensive strategy.
While it will be distributed with a refreshed design, Reef will be reintroduced to pubs and bars with its "classic flavour profile" in tact, the supplier said.
The serve was first released in 1988 and quickly became popular across the on-trade throughout the 90s.
Reef brand manager Jacob Barrett said: “We’re seeing the impact that 90s culture is having for today’s consumer, especially with the growth of our iconic Hooch brand. We feel Reef is perfectly placed to join the nostalgia revolution and bring its chilled vibes to venues up and down the country.
“It’s still the same great product that everyone knows and loves, but now at 3.4% ABV, to make the drink more sessionable, and ideal for summer drinking occasions.”

Molson Coors reveals two new Rekorderlig cider flavours
Molson Coors Beverage Company (MCBC) has introduced two new flavoured variants to its Rekorderlig cider range, Peach & Raspberry and Blackberry & Blackcurrant.
Both 3.4% ABV, MCBC said the new serves would “diversify” its current cider offering while the flavours had a “broad appeal” to consumers.
The global brewer added its Peach & Raspberry variant provided a light taste without too much sweetness, one of the “main barriers” to consumers buying fruit ciders, while Blackberry & Blackcurrant delivered a new dark fruit flavour with “year- round appeal”.
