North reopening ‘cherished’ bar
North has acquired the lease for Alley Cats, which held a wide range of events such as drag bingo and karaoke.
Set to open its doors again next week (Tuesday 7 November), customers will still be able to have the opportunity to enjoy the Alley Cats burgers both for dining in and taking out, where they will also be available on Deliveroo alongside the existing partnership with Uber Eats.
Furthermore, there will also be a diverse drinks offer including a plethora of North beers, a wide selection of cocktails, spirits and soft drinks alongside a variety of low and no-alcohol beers.
Local community
The reopening of Alley Cats represents North’s commitment to supporting and enhancing the vibrant local culture, according to the Leeds-based business.
Co-founder John Gyngell said: “We are proud to take over the reins of Alley Cats and ensure this beloved institution remains a cornerstone of the Chapel Allerton community.
“We are excited to welcome everyone back through the doors and we look forward to creating new memories while cherishing the traditions that have made Alley Cats such a special place.”
Earlier this week (Tuesday 31 October), the multiple operator revealed it had opened its first international site.
North Bar Treviso in Italy offers 13 tap lines as well as an extensive cocktail, wine and spirits menu with nine of the taps exclusively dedicated to North’s range of beers.
Growing estate
Gyngell said the international site was a significant milestone for the business and they were excited to bring their passion for craft beer to the city.
The Italian site and the new Leeds venue join the company’s 11 other bars and taprooms in the UK.
This includes North’s 10th in Manchester, which opened at the beginning of 2023. North Bar: Circle Square offers a varied drinks range and serves Asian street food from long-time food partners Little Bao Boy.
