JD Wetherspoon (JDW) has launched a range of new meals across pubs in England Scotland and Wales, including chicken dishes, curries and healthier options.

The dishes, which were introduced on Wednesday (30 March), include four boneless chicken dishes, each served in a basket. These are comprised of three southern-fried chicken strips and five chicken breast bites, southern-fried chicken strips basket (five strips), chicken breast bites basket (ten pieces) and Quorn ‘no chicken’ nuggets basket (eight pieces).

All chicken meals will be served with BBQ, sweet chilli, honey glaze or sticky soy sauce and a side of rice or chips.

A new chargrilled chicken and gravy dish has also been introduced, which is served with mashed potato, chips or jacket potato.

JDW spokesperson Eddie Gershon said the company was always keen to offer customers an excellent range of meals.

Best possible choice

What’s more, the pubco has reintroduced Steak Club on Tuesdays and Curry Club on Thursdays, with chicken korma, sweet potato curry and chicken vindaloo also coming to the menu. Onion bhaji and vegetable samosa are also available as side dishes, and customers can also now enjoy gammon with eggs, veg and chips or jacket potato in the Steak Club.

JDW senior food development manager Matt Elsdon, said: “We are always looking to offer our customers the best possible choice of meals.

“We believe our customers will welcome the new meals and will also be pleased at the return of the Steak Club and Curry Club to Tuesday and Thursday nights.

“As always all meals will be of the highest quality and available at value-for-money prices.”

Health kick

Healthy options have also joined the menu, including a breakfast fruit salad, which can also be served with ice cream as a dessert, as well as fruit options on porridge.

In addition, a small pancakes dish (available for breakfast or dessert), smashed avocado muffin and chicken and maple-cured bacon salad are now available.

The children’s menu has also been updated with a dessert of strawberries and blueberries, as well as an apple bag added to the free fruit options for all children’s meals.
