A leading national operator has taken its first steps into providing an accommodation offer with the launch of a new site.

The new “Brewtel” concept from fast growing multiple operator Brewhouse & Kitchen is to launch in Worthing on Monday May 17, and is poised to be the first of many such concepts the group is rolling out across it's estate and moving forward.

The project has undergone a long gestation period since the company bought the former Beechwood Hall in the seaside town in 2018. Planning challenges and then the pandemic delayed the launch, but the site is now set to hit the ground running on the day operations are allowed to resume indoors.

Simon Bunn, managing director of Brewhouse & Kitchen, said they’d long identified Worthing as an opportunity for a site and they’d invested significantly into the new operation.

“The interest has been ferocious and we’re really looking forward to opening. We’ve operated hotels before, but haven’t had the opportunity to develop until we bought this site.”

Accommodation expansion

He said the company was now looking to expand it’s accommodation offers even further: “We have looked at retrospective planning applications for several of our other sites which we’ve got loaded and ready to go - we've got one in planning and expecting to get that approved any minute. This is the first, but it won’t be the last, they’ll be more rooms to come.”

The site features extensive gardens with 300 covers, along with beach huts and an outdoor garden room, alongside a 140 cover brewpub, a 70 capacity function room and 10 letting rooms.

New technology has been used to ensure all the rooms are operated through touchpads on the doors, which allows guests to pre-pay and get a code to access their rooms without having to check in.
