In association with Diageo
Diageo shows strong commitment to sector
For the foreseeable future, many venues and operators face uncertainty. However, Diageo is committed to supporting publicans during this time:
Drinks industry information phone line
This new phone line will help independent licensed business owners in GB and will provide information on how to access tax relief and commercial measures announced by UK Government.
The phone line, 0207 728 2556, is now available and free to call. You can also email Publican.Support@uk.gt.com.
Provided by Grant Thornton UK LLP, a leading business and financial adviser, the line will provide information to customers from both the on and off-trade.
Beer quality and looking after your lines
The Diageo Quality Contact Centre remains open and fully operational for its customers. Its trained operatives are working remotely, but the existing phone number is fully live, ensuring its customers see no change in service levels. You can call on 0845 751 5101.
Head of Guinness Quality Adam Miller says: “Care for draught beer lines is vital and cleaning should be thorough, ensuring no beer or yeast remains before lines are disconnected. Once cleaned, all dispense lines should be blown through, it is important that the lines are not left charged with either water or cleaning fluid as this can cause irrevocable damage to the system. You can speak with one of our quality engineers by calling up the QCT.”
Train your staff, and brush up on product and category knowledge
Monday (6 April) saw the start of Diageo Bar Academy’s virtual sessions – featuring collaborations with GB’s Diageo Reserve World Class team, a host of industry experts to deliver informative and engaging online sessions.
Designed to be open to the entire hospitality industry, the 45-minute sessions will include everything from bar basics, to categories and brands, as well as specific focuses on topics such as how to make menus, inspire new creations and make the most of your online presence.
These sessions are free and available for anyone over legal drinking age who wishes to attend, with the aim of driving engagement and capability during these challenging times.
