Second site for award-winning concept after £100k investment
Mark Caldicott and business partner Craig Woodley have unveiled Ale Rooms & Gin Bar in Smalley Place, Kenilworth, following a £100,000 investment in the venue.
The opening follows the success of the pair’s first venue, the Ale Rooms & Wine Bar in Knowle near Solihull, which has won a number of Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) awards such as Solihull Pub of the Year, twice, and the West Midlands County Pub of the Year 2018.
The venue, which will operate across two floors and an outdoor seating area with capacity for 100 customers, will create 12 new jobs.
The pair will team up with several local brewers to offer customers a range of locally produced beers and cask ales on rotation, as well as an extensive menu comprising more than 50 gin brands alongside a broad range of wine, Champagne, Prosecco, artisan rums, vodkas and premium bottled lagers and ciders.
Moreover, real ale lovers will be able to sample Kenilworth Special Ale, which has been brewed exclusively for the Ale Rooms by Stourbridge’s Green Duck Brewery.
Considerable investment
Launching the Ale Rooms brand’s second venue on the site of what was the Gallery bar, managing director and founder Mark Caldicott, commented: “We are delighted to be able to bring our award-winning concept to Kenilworth and are looking forward to welcome those customers who enjoyed the Gallery as well attracting new ones who want to enjoy everything a great local offers.
“As well as buying the lease, we’ve spent a considerable sum on installing a new bar and refurbishing the interior with the aim of creating a venue that will have broad appeal to local customers as well as visitors to Kenilworth.”
Ale Rooms & Gin Bar will trade every day of the week and will host regular live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
