Barons Pub Co acquires £2.5m pub
The Inn at West End, located between Camberley and Woking, had been turned into a premium travel stop by husband and wife duo Gerry and Ann Price. The duo ran the pub for 18 years.
Situated on a main road, the pub is perfectly placed to take advantage of passing trade connected to Ascot Racecourse, Bisley shooting ground and Heathrow airport.
Eighth addition
The pub marks the eighth addition to the pubco’s portfolio and is its first acquisition with an accommodation offer. Twelve en-suite letting rooms were added to the pub in 2015.
Barons Pub Company managing director Clive Price said: “We’re delighted to have acquired our first pub with letting rooms and have some really exciting plans for the future of the site.
“Following a short, 10-day makeover, we’re looking forward to opening the doors to our first customers and overnight guests on the evening of 11 October.”
Fantastic opportunity
Richard Wood, senior business agent at specialist business property adviser Christie & Co handled the sale said: “The Inn at West End represented a fantastic opportunity to acquire a well-established and highly regarded freehold business.
“We were delighted to sell it off-market through a confidential marketing campaign.
“Gerry and Ann did a great job of building up the business and growing it into a popular and high-quality venue with the added value of letting rooms.
“Pubs and restaurants with overnight guest accommodation are highly sought after, particularly when in a desirable location close to local amenities and attractions.”
