Traditional cider maker Sheppy’s has unveiled two premium varieties of canned cider, the company’s first foray into the dispense method.

Named after the actual vats used to mature Sheppy’s cider for more than 200 years, VAT 14 and VAT 07 are packaged in 330ml cans. VAT 14 is the producer’s Premium Classic Cider (5% ABV), while VAT 07 is its Premium Cloudy Cider (4.5% ABV).

New branding

The launch coincides with a new look for Sheppy’s, as the brand aims to cement its premium positioning and reinforce the authenticity of the brand.

Discussing the launch of the canned range, master of cider David Sheppy said: "We are extremely excited about the launch of our cans. This is something we have wanted to do for a while and after our recent rebrand, we felt it was the perfect time.

“Cans are great as they offer a smaller serving size, are lighter than glass bottles, take up less shelf space - and leave less carbon footprint.

'Great-tasting and convenient'

“Available in our classic cider and cloudy variant, VAT 14 and VAT 07 meet the demand for premium, great-tasting, convenient cider."

Sheppy’s Cider was founded in Somerset in 1816, and the business is still family owned.
