Wetherspoon is opening its 52nd hotel at one of its pubs in Hull following a development project that cost more than £2.5 million.

The 22-bedroom hotel, which will open on Friday 23 June, is located above the Admiral of the Humber pub, which first opened in 2000.

To coincide with the hotel opening, the pub has been fully refurbished and redecorated and a first floor roof terrace beer garden has been added. The hotel will create 30 jobs.

Wonderful addition

Pub manager Katie Younger said: “The new hotel is a wonderful addition to The Admiral of the Humber. I am confident it will be a great asset to Hull.”

Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon confirmed that the pubco will be opening additional hotels this year, with further plans to add more in years to come as well.

“Wetherspoon’s hotels continue to prove popular with a wide range of customers,” he said.

“The fact that they are located above or alongside our pubs is a great advantage for guests as they can stay in the hotel and also enjoy food and drink at the pub too.
