Fit for the Queen? Her Majesty dines out at Edinburgh pub
The Queen stunned staff and locals alike when she dropped into an Edinburgh pub for lunch last week.

The Telegraph reported that staff at the Sheep Heid Inn, Edinburgh, were given an hour’s notice to prepare for a visit from none other but Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and “sworn to secrecy” about the visit.

One customer, who was in the pub at the time, took to TripAdvisor to exclaim: “Absolutely amazed when Her Majesty the Queen arrived for dinner with friends and sat at the table next to us.”

'Lovely lady'

The stunned customer added: “What a lovely lady. Security guys everywhere but so unobtrusive that you hardly noticed them.”

Her party reportedly ordered two portions of lamb rump, one fillet of sea bass as well as a Martini and half a bottle of white wine.

'Excellent meal'

Local councillor Alex Lunn told the Edinburgh Evening News the local community was proud of the pub and he was sure the Queen had enjoyed an excellent meal.

A member of staff at the pub is reported to have said they, along with everyone else in the pub, were asked to delete any pictures they took of the Queen’s visit.
