M&B to trial own coffee blend
Its Brood blend has been developed in collaboration with coffee roaster Bewley’s.
The trail across “a number of Ember Inns and Sizzling Pubs across the country” will run over the next three months.
The company said the blend had been developed to match the quality, flavour and price of the best coffees on the high street and was part of its “continued innovation of its drinks range”.
David Gallacher, food trading director at Mitchells & Butlers, said: “In the UK, we drink over 70 million cups of coffee per day. Furthermore our insight tells us that consumer demand for a great tasting coffee which focuses on the importance of provenance, has been on the rise for some time.
“By collaborating with Bewley’s and utilising their expert knowledge of the coffee market, we have been able to answer this challenge and invest in developing a premium coffee which we hope our guests will love.”
Brood will be available as Filter or Espresso based coffee and is made using 100% fully traceable Rainforest Alliance certified Arabica beans.
