The Publican’s Morning Advertiser website – morningadvertiser.co.uk – has radically changed its site navigation to reflect how our readers consume content.

Content categories have now been simplified into an easy-to-use top navigation which includes the core elements of our offer: drinks, pub food, legal and operator news and analysis. PMA has also introduced a new ‘Running Your Pub’ section to assist licensees with business support articles.

Each of these core content areas includes a series of sub-categories in an drop-down menu. For example, the drinks section includes a special landing page for beer, which includes news on beer brands, information on breweries, commentary from leading beer writers Pete Brown and Roger Protz, as well as features and analysis of the sector. Similar sections have also been created for other big categories, such as cider, spirits and wine to allow the reader to quickly find information relevant to them.

The new legal category features content on legislation and political news, such as the pubs code, alongside advice and Q&A pieces on licensing law, property law and other issues facing publicans running their businesses. Operator news focuses on all elements of the industry, from big pubcos to multiple operators and our MA300 business club to those with a single site.

The new ‘Running Your Pub’ section is aimed specifically at assisting the trade with a wide range of content, including items on training, how to prepare for events and occasions such as Easter or Mother’s Day, sports coverage and dealing with technology issues, such as EPoS systems.
