New bistro, coffee and cocktail bar Marmalade is set to open at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre on Friday 6 February.

The venue, owned by Birmingham-based independent operator Bitters ‘N’ Twisted, will offer a range of fresh, locally sourced dishes and drinks.

Some of the menu’s highlights include baked plaice fillet with French beans, roasted cherry, tomatoes and caper butter, celeriac salad with crisp shallots and soft-boiled egg and free range pork rib-eye with parsley potatoes, honey root vegetables and red wine jus.

Matt Scriven, founder of Bitters 'N' Twisted, said: "Marmalade will be something really special and a new direction for the Bitters 'N' Twisted family. The team here have all worked hard to launch something welcoming and exciting that has a different style and feel to our other venues.

"We went to showcase the quality that independent operators can offer in Birmingham, a city traditionally known for big brand domination. Vegetarian and vegan cuisine features strongly in the menu as we feel this is a trend which seems set to develop significantly in Birmingham due to the lack of alternative options."

The venue will offer a pre-theatre dining menu starting at £15.95 for two courses or £19.95 for three.

Marmalade will be Bitters ‘N’ Twisted’s eighth venue to open in Birmingham since the company was founded in 2006.
