Star Wars actor Warwick Davis oversaw the finale of Stonegate's Britain's biggest pub tour at the Slug and Lettuce, St Katherine's Dock, London on Friday (26 September).

Davis passed a giant 'pledge passport', which was signed by every 614 pub manager visited as part of the event, to Toby Smith, CEO of Stonegate Pub Company.

A total of £275,000 has been raised for disabled and disadvantaged children’s charity Variety, which Warwick Davis represents as an ambassador.

The monies raised will go towards funding five specially adapted Variety Sunshine Coaches for schools and communities across the UK as well as supporting many children with special needs equipment.

With further fundraising activities still to take place, Toby Smith thanked pubs and Stonegate staff for organising and taking part in the event, and predicted the total could reach £300,000.

Later in the evening Warwick Davis was joined by Holby City and fellow Star Wars actor Hugh Quarshie.
