Pub People Company, the Midlands-based multiple pub operator, has taken its estate to 50 sites with the acquisition of two pubs from Marston’s.

One of the new acquisitions, the Three Legged Stool in Worksop, will be converted to Pub People Company’s six-strong Fresh & Local concept, managing director Kevin Sammonds has told the Publican’s Morning Advertiser’s sister title M&C Report.

The other acquisition is the Thorn Tree Inn at Ripley, a former Marston’s managed house.

Sammonds described Fresh & Local as “mid-range value offer based on fresh products and a locally-provenance menu”.

He said the company wants to operate more pubs under the format, but these would come from acquisitions rather than conversions from the existing estate. “We are looking for them,” Sammonds said.

Pub People is expected to complete on another acquisition shortly.
