Brewers unite in Brighton pub venture
London brewery Late Knights has teamed up with Brighton Bier to operate The Brighton Beer Dispensary, on the site of the former Prince Arthur pub in Dean Street.
The pub, whose freehold was bought from Enterprise Inns for the new joint venture, will serve up 10 ales, four handpull ciders, a couple of keg ale lines, one lager, 50 national and international bottled beers, as well as a burger menu.
Over the past three weeks decorators have stripped back the premises to the original wood, taken the walls back to brick, and installed new light fittings.
Director Stephen Whitehurst, who runs Brighton Bier with Steven Medniuk, Ollie Fisher and Gary Sillence, told the PMA the pub would appeal to all ages and drinkers.
“Brighton is a great place to go out and has a fantastic social scene,” Whitehurst said. “A lot of the pubs just stock Sussex beer but the Brighton Beer Dispensary will have beer from every corner of the country as well as local, which is not particularly common.
“We’ve [Brighton Bier and Late Knights] both got wholesale businesses which makes it easy for us to put in beers from all over the country…Young or old, whatever their background, the offering has got something for everyone.”
