Punch Taverns to review POS support offered in cask packs
Punch Taverns is looking to review the point of sale (POS) support offered in its Punch Finest Cask Packs, after a forum with licensees.

It also plans to improve communication on available cask brands, and help licensees set up beer festivals.

The forum took place at Punch’s Old Swan in Dudley on 19 March, after Punch invited eight licensees from the West Midlands to discuss the support for cask ales their pubs receives.

Punch also received feedback from licensees through the partner survey on the Punch Buying Club website. It is now planning more forum events and broadening them to discuss website development, wine and food.

Stephen Martin, drinks category manager for Punch Taverns, said: “Cask ale is one of the unique selling points for British pubs and its share of total beer sold is continuing to grow. This forum allowed us to share our plans as well as gaining insight for future development.”

Tony Madden, who has been running pubs since 1985 and currently operates the British Oak in Stirchley, Birmingham, said: “Cask ale is one of the biggest draws, so it is a very important aspect of my business.

“It is an extremely positive initiative and I really felt like my issues were addressed.”
