Fever Bars, the retro music-bar operator, has acquired a package of three sites from the troubled late-night bar operator Yellowhammer.

The package, which takes Fever Bars’ estate to 20 sites, includes Groove in Swindon, Toko in Barnstaple, Devon,  and Bliss & Malarki in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

The first two have been converted to Fever Bars’ Fever & Boutique brand, while the Banbury unit has opened as Fever & Moo Moo.

The sites are all leaseholds, and c.£750,000 has been spent on refurbishments.

Fever Bars’ operations director James Elias told M&C the company still has a list
of target towns and would consider acquisitions.

However, it would be concentrating on its core estate for the time being.

A strategic review was carried out at Yellowhammer Bars at the end of last year that saw its late-night venue estate reduced to 17 sites.

In February, a subsidiary, Yellowhammer Trading Ltd, was placed into administration with RSM Tenon.
