Who's for a game of Bagatelle?
On a recent retail inspection of a number of pubs within the newly-Cerberus-backed Admiral Taverns estate, Snifter was introduced to the traditional pub game, Bagatelle at the Olde Cottage Inn in Chester.

A derivation of billiards, the game is played on a baize-covered table with a curved end and nine scoring 'cups'.

Snifter accepted the challenge of a game against Admiral MD Kevin Georgel and Fleet Street PR guru Mark Stretton.

Result: Stretton 39 points (out of a possible 54), Snifter 25 points, Georgel 0 points (honestly!).

Locals pointed out that as they operate the only Bagatelle league in the world, Mark Stretton is now officially the world champion.

Snifter understands Stretton is now fielding calls from a certain celebrity diving show!
