UK's oldest clubber puts Snifter to shame

Snifter thought he was getting a bit too old for the nightclub scene, but try telling that to the “UK’s oldest clubber” who celebrated his 90th birthday at Batchwood Hall nightclub in St Albans on Saturday 8 December.

Tom Parker, or ‘Uncle Tom’, as he is known to clubbers, has been a regular at the Luminar club for over 30 years, and was joined at his birthday bash by three generations of his family including his sons and grandchildren.

Snifter doubts they can match Parker’s moves, however.

Parker said: “Batchwood has been my life for over 56 years; it’s where I’ve lived with my wonderful wife Barbie, whom I’ve been blissfully married to for over 63.

"We’ve brought up all our fantastic children, grandchildren and great grandchildren here and they all went clubbing before they left home and had their own families. Music and dancing is one of the best things in my life.

"It’s kept me fit and feeling young and I wouldn’t miss my Saturdays on the dance floor for anything.”

Take that, Strictly!
