Arran Brewery, the company formed by the merger of two Scottish brewers, has secured a site in central Glasgow for its first craft-beer bar and told M&C Report it wants to open “as many as we can”.

The company, which is also exploring options for openings in Spain, hopes to raise £10m to extend brewing facilities and secure bars.

MD Gerald Michaluk said that funds are being sought via Crowd Investments, a similar process to BrewDog’s share issue that has a limit of €5m ( £4m) for each round of investment.

The firm hopes to open its Arran on Hope Street site, a leasehold on the corner of Hope Street and Regent Street, in February. It will serve 25 different craft beers. “Our intention is to open as many pubs as we can,” said Michaluk.

Last week it was revealed Isle of Arran Brewery and Isle of Skye Brewing Company are to merge, creating Arran Brewery with a combined turnover of £1.2m.
