A well-known Surrey licensee and regular PMA contributor has expressed his excitement after securing the freehold of his pub from Enterprise Inns.

Gerry Price finalised the deal for the Inn @ West End in Woking on 28 September, with the agreed price believed to be in the region of £790,000.
Price told the PMA that the purchase presents him with a range of opportunities and he is looking to take the pub in a new direction.
“The outlay will be much the same as paying rent except there will be no rent reviews,” said Price. “I think the main excitement now is that we can have different ales on, which is going to be something new for us.
“In the long term we could look to get rooms in but for the first six to 12 months we just want to tidy up and focus on the business as it is now.
“Buying the pub has been very tiring and we have ended up paying a few fees but Enterprise have been really good since we agreed to the deal.”
Asked whether he would ever consider taking on another pub, Price said “I don’t think so.”
“You are either somebody who wants to run a number of units or somebody, like me, who wants a place focused around yourself. I think if you are like me, you can’t possibly have two.”
An spokesperson for Enterprise Inns said: “The publicans run an excellent food led business at The Inn and Enterprise agrees that this was a deal that suited both parties.”
