The Horse & Groom in Lincoln is set to receive a £250,000 overhaul as part of plans unveiled by new operators the Ever So Sensible group.

Managing director Chris Bulaitis, pictured, said: “The Horse & Groom is one of many wonderful old pubs across the country that’s been closed for far too long.

“The building has a real sense of history and we’re aiming to bring back some of that original character to create what I would describe as a ‘real pub’.”

Ever So Sensible acquired the leasehold for the Horse & Groom as part of the group’s expansion plans, which will see a further two venues being launched in the East Midlands by the start of next year.

The current portfolio includes Le Mistral Bistros in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, Dogma in Lincoln and Nottingham, the Castle and Bad Juju in Nottingham and the Marquis Wellington in Leicester.
