The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) is about to move into offices at Brewers’ Hall, in the City of London.

It will mark the end of ten years for the association in Vauxhall, on the south bank of the river Thames.

The ground floor of Brewers’ Hall is now being fitted out, with a move targeted for late November.

The Brewers were one of the first London Guilds to have a Hall of their own in the City. The earliest reference to the Hall, which stood on the same site as the present one in Aldermanbury Square near Moorgate, occurs in the records of the Chapter of St Paul’s Cathedral in 1403. The present Brewers’ Hall was completed in 1960.

BBPA chief executive Brigid Simmonds said: “There is no doubt about the synergy between Brewers’ Hall and the BBPA, and the great brewing heritage in the building. We are looking forward to welcoming BBPA members and visitors to our new offices. And of course, there are many great pubs in the area, too.”
