More than 100 Punch Taverns pubs are stocking locally sourced beers just six weeks after the roll out to their estate of the SIBA Direct Delivery Scheme.

The scheme allows licensees to buy beer brewed by SIBA members within a 30-mile radius of the pub.

It was offered to more than 300 Punch pubs which fitted the criteria of being Cask Marque accredited and successfully selling more than 50 barrels of brewers’ beer a year.

Punch Buying Club director Andy Slee said: “Punch as a company is constantly looking for ways to expand the range and choice of cask ales for our licensees, particularly because cask ale is such a unique selling point for pubs.

“There are more than 100 cask ales in our core product range, with a further 100 available through our Finest Cask scheme, with the SIBA Direct Delivery scheme further increasing the range and at the same time offering locally sourced beers.”

SIBA commercial director Nick Stafford said: “At a time when pubs are having to work harder than ever to attract custom, beers from SIBA brewers are a powerful addition to their armoury.

"Our ales meet the growing consumer demand for locally-sourced food and drink and offer licensees a genuine point of difference.”
