Whiting & Hammond in growth plan
Whiting & Hammond, the award-winning south-east multiple led by Brian Whiting, is looking to eventually build an estate of 20 pubs and hopes to add a seventh site before the end of 2011.
At Restaurant magazine's R200 conference, Whiting said the firm was also keen on developing an outside catering business.
He added that the company, which launched its sixth pub, the Cricketers Inn in Meopham, Kent, in November last year, had experienced its best-ever financial year in 2010.
Whiting said: "Trading took a backward step during the first part of the year, but the trade bounced back over Easter and thanks to the impact of the royal wedding and the good weather."
