Redcomb Pubs, the company led by former Mitchells & Butlers marketing executive Dan Shotton, is set to open its fourth site.

The new opening, the Box Tree in Box Hill, near Dorking, Surrey, is an Enterprise Inns outlet.

The tenanted company is making an investment of £500,000 at the site — its largest capital investment this year.

Shotton said: "We're working with Enterprise and Concorde BGW, a design and concept specialist developing a new design template called Vine & Green, which matches very closely what Redcomb Pubs does — high-quality, relaxed, unpretentious country pubs, with a simple, delicious menu focusing on local produce.

"Once the Box Tree is open we are planning to do a number of other sites with them."

Last month, Redcomb opened a Punch leased site, the Griffin in Danbury, just outside Chelmsford, Essex. The pub is a former Chef & Brewer site.

Shotton hopes to expand Redcomb to 20 sites in the next five years.

The company is focused on quality pubs in London and the Home Counties, including the company's base around Oxfordshire.

Shotton said: "I want to specialise in quality local pubs that offer a premium casual-dining experience backed by high levels of customer service.

"There are plenty of quality pubs coming onto the market and I am very excited at what the future holds."
