M&B man joins university as visiting professor
Kevin Todd, managing director of Mitchells & Butlers' City & Country division, has been made a visiting professor at Birmingham City University.
He will advise the Academy of Multi-Unit Leadership at Birmingham City Business School, which is based at the university.
Todd spearheaded the rollout of M&B's casual-dining brands Premium Country Dining Group and Village Pub & Kitchen, and previously held senior positions at Allied Breweries, Greene King, Gala Clubs and Volvo.
He holds an international MBA from Nottingham Business School and also attended Harvard and Cornell.
Todd, right, said: "I am honoured to have been appointed a visiting professor to advise the school on multiple retail and leisure leadership — something I have an intimate knowledge of given my career in the past 30 years.
"I am passionate about raising the skills, knowledge and the capabilities of unit, area and regional managers in multi-unit enterprises. Getting the functional and emotional attributes of service delivery in multiple chain environments is a key determinant of success."
Chris Edger, director of the Academy of Multi-Unit Leadership, said: "I am delighted that Kevin, one of Europe's leading experts on service delivery in premium multi-unit contexts, has agreed to join us.
"The award of this title is proper recognition of the outstanding contribution he has made to multiple retail and leisure leadership over the past two decades."
