Every other Sunday night sees the Balham Bowls Club in Balham, south London, hold a ukulele jamming session.

The night was spurred on from a local ukulele group meeting at the pub. Manager Jennifer Allen said that the night has been going on for two years now, and she decided to keep it going because of it's success.

"The manager before me began the night and I know the guy who runs the ukulele group quite well too, so I decided to carry it on," says Allen. "I've asked them to play at our spring and summer fetes too and it always goes down well, people are always saying how amazing it is. The group gets a lot of interest at the fetes, and there's now about 25 to 30 of them."

The ukulele group holds a beginners session in the pub's front room between 6pm and 7pm, and then has a jamming session for the customers.
