Whitbread rolls out Buffet Place to 27 sites
Whitbread brand Brewers Fayre has rolled out its Buffet Place concept to 27 sites and has plans for a further 50 outlets over the next year.
The 'all-you-can-eat' offer was launched last summer and initially rolled out to eight sites. The newest opening is the Malt & Myre in Dumbarton, in the west of Scotland.
Buffet Place sites operate a buffet counter offering all-you-can-eat theme nights alongside a standard Brewers Fayre menu. The deal costs £7.99, which includes a drink.
Amanda Barnett, a spokesperson for Brewers Fayre, said: "The Buffet Place has been really successful in driving covers and offers a great value price point once the two-for-£10 deal finishes for the evening."
The theme nights are: a Monday Chinese Night with dishes including sweet and sour chicken, Szechuan veg and prawn toast; a Friday Chip Shop Night that in-cludes battered fish, oven-roast chicken and battered sausage; a Thursday Curry Night that includes chicken tikka masala, Goan vegetable curry and naan bread.
A Sunday carvery is also offered from noon with a starter and main for £9 and three courses for £11. Customers help themselves to soup and salads for starters.
The carvery offers a choice of four mains, including vegetable pie and roast turkey with accompaniments such as cauliflower cheese, sage & onion stuffing and Yorkshire puddings.
Among Brewers Fayre Buffet Place sites are the Wessington in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear; the Honourable Pilot in Gillingham, Kent; the Lodmoor, Weymouth, Dorset; the Chafford Hundred, Thurrock, Essex; the Ocean Plaza, Southport, Merseyside; the Lock Keeper, Chesterfield, Derbyshire; the Bobbing Apple, Sittingbourne, Kent; and the Lakeland Gate in Carlisle, Cumbria.
