Adrian Posnett, managing director of Peterborough-based Oakham Ales, has been appointed partner in the firm as it eyes expansion of its 70-barrel brewery.

Posnett, who joined the company in January 2010 and became MD last May, will be the third partner at Oakham, joining senior partner Paul Hook and John Bryan, production director. Hook said: "Adrian has already proved himself an asset to the business since he took the helm.

"We are delighted to appoint him a partner, as his experience and easy manner, coupled with his ability to make things happen, make him the right person to grow Oakham Ales and help establish our beer brands nationally."

Oakham Ales opened in 1993 in Oakham, Rutland, as a 10-barrel brewhouse

The current brewery was opened in Woodston, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, in 2006. Last September a new warehouse was purchased on an adjoining site that doubled the warehouse area and a new malt room was commissioned

in February this year.
