BBPA appoints director of public affairs
The British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) has appointed David Wilson as director of public affairs.
Wilson starts at the BBPA today and effectively replaces former director of communications Mark Hastings.
He joins the BBPA from the East of England Development Agency where he led their external relations team in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Wilson was previously a Partner at Portland PR where he led their public affairs division with high-profile clients including McDonald's, the Wine & Spirit Trade Association and the Scouts Association.
"David has a wealth of public affairs experience to draw upon, and is already familiar with the key issues and challenges facing our sector. We are delighted to welcome him to the BBPA team," said BBPA chief executive Brigid Simmonds.
The BBPA has also appointed John Wilson as new director of finance and administration — replacing Wayne Bridgens, who is retiring after 22 years in the role.
