Scoff & Quaff buys up pub
Worcester-based pub operator Scoff & Quaff has bought its seventh site — a flood-hit Enterprise Inns leased pub that is to undergo a £750,000 refurbishment.
The Fleet at Twyning, Gloucestershire, has been shut since last August after the previous licensee struggled to re-build the business after it was hit by floods.
Scoff & Quaff plans to re-open the riverside pub on 21 April. The company said it will be "an entirely different style of venue", serving a variety of quality fresh meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, alongside premium draught lagers, real ales and a wide selection of wines.
Scoff & Quaff co-founder Brian Hulme said: "During the refurbishment process we have also re-developed the original boathouse to provide three en-suite bedrooms. We will also be able to cater for private parties, inside and out.
"We are excited to announce diners at the Fleet will be able to try 'espetada', a traditional Portuguese
dish featuring individual skewers of fresh meat or fish suspended over plates.
"We look forward to welcoming customers, both old and new, into the pub over the next few months and are hopeful that the re-opening of the Fleet will be welcomed by the local community, which has been without one of its village pubs for almost a year."
