Punch encourages lessees to celebrate St George's Day
Punch Taverns has been encouraging its tenants and lessees to make the most of St George's Day, by sending them a pack with tips, ideas and POS.
A specially themed St George's Day flyer was issued to all lessees, because, according to Punch, 45% of people believe that their local pub would deliver the best St George's Day party.
The Punch guide focuses on providing tips and key considerations such as offering great English beers complemented by traditional dishes such as bangers and mash, toad-in-the-hole or even afternoon tea.
Lessees have also been encouraged to put on unique outdoor events such as tug-of-war competitions, mini cricket matches or pram racing while patriotic free kits on offer include a special 'Bombardier Wells English Knees Up' containing posters, cards and St George's Day and royal wedding pump clips.
124 lessees are also planning to hold a beer festival over the royal wedding and Easter weekends.
Punch's buying club director Andy Slee said: "With the Easter weekend, St George's Day, the royal wedding and May Bank Holiday approaching, most people have eight days out of 11 off work, meaning pubs have a huge opportunity to attract trade.
"Our operations and marketing teams have been busy helping partners get their 'Best of British' offers right. This includes beer festival support, themed real ales, marketing assistance, top tips, guides, special deals and free POS. Partners have all been encouraged to get involved and give people a reason to celebrate in their pub."
