The Breconshire Brewery is being put up for sale, along with the recently refurbished Red Lion pub in Llangorse.

The multi-award winning Welsh brewer of Brecon County Ale, Golden Valley, Red Dragon and Ramblers Ruin was established in 2002 by C H Marlow Ltd and is to be sold along with the warehouse and beer wholesale business that operates alongside it.

The brewery has shown steady growth year-on-year, and the owners would like to see it continue its success under new ownership - ideally someone with connections to the Brecon area.

Stuart Hogg Property Consultants have been instructed to market the brewery.

"There is a growing interest in real ales and there have been some exciting developments in the sector with Molson Coors having recently purchased the Cornish brewer, Sharp's," said Hogg.

"Although much smaller, Breconshire Brewery has some well known brands and has great potential for growth."

Howard Marlow is taking a step back from the brewery and wholesale business having had several back operations in recent years and is unfortunately unable to give total commitment to the businesses.

The Red Lion in Llangorse was re-opened last summer after a complete refurbishment.

Sidney Phillips have been instructed to sell the property, which has a price tag of £595,000.
