Booker has launched a campaign to help licensees drive extra trade around events.

The "Fully Booked" initiative aims to help pubs capitalise on the wealth of forthcoming events this Spring.

The 3 March issue of the Morning Advertiser contains a "Fully Booked" wall planner featuring event dates and ideas up to the end of May.

Dates include Albert Einstein's birthday, where hosting a genius quiz is suggested; National Vegetarian Week; the Eurovision Song Contest and the launch of the first Star Wars film where a film night idea is recommended.

The planner also includes key sporting events and bank holidays.

Ron Hickey, director of catering sales, said: "There has never been such a long run of events on and never such a great opportunity for licensees to behind them.

Turning an event into an occasion at your venue is a great way of giving customers better value without having to reduce prices."

Booker will be getting behind the "Fully Booked " campaign with in-store promotions and website offers such as £99 kegs of Guinness for St Patrick's Day and a Meet the Butcher Week prior to Mother's Day on 2 April.
