Kate's favourite licensee going to wedding
The licensee of Kate Middleton's favourite pub will be going to the royal wedding.
John Haley, who owns the Old Boot Inn in Stanford Dingley, Berkshire, is amongst 1,900 guests invited to the celebration on 29 April.
He has been at the pub for 14 years and knows Middleton, her family and Prince William well.
"They are very natural, down to earth people," Haley told the Morning Advertiser. "I've known Kate and her family for many years.
"I did know before hand that I was going to receive an invite and I rang my daughter to tell her. She's very jealous and begged me to take her.
"It is very special."
Haley will be back at the Old Boot Inn after his sojourn to Westminster Abbey as he has planned a "massive do" at the pub.
He will be making the most of the Government's licence extension to 1am with live music and a disco from 6pm.
Meanwhile, Marston's Hobgoblin character will be officiating at the Alternative Wedding of the Year near Wychwood brewery in Witney, Oxfordshire.
Applications are currently being taken for a couple to win a £20,000 wedding with up to 30 guests on the same day as Wills and Kate.
